This week's fishing report covers the productive areas of Hopedale, Delacroix, and Lake Pontchartrain, where patterns are emerging that should hold strong through early spring. NAVIGATIONAL ALERT: EXTREME LOW WATER CONDITIONS Before diving into the bite report, I must emphasize the critically low water conditions across the region. Anglers launching from Hopedale, Delacroix, and even parts of Lake Pontchartrain need to exercise extreme caution when navigating. Many normally accessible areas are now hazardous with exposed shell banks, shallow flats, and barely submerged obstructions. Pre-planning is essential: - Study satellite imagery before your trip - Identify deep-water routes to and from your fishing locations - Consider launching later in the day when tides are more favorable - Leave float plans with someone onshore For clients joining our Hopedale fishing charters or Delacroix guided trips, rest assured we're monitoring these conditions closely and have established safe travel routes to productive fishing grounds.
